Owner, Instructor Marty Dowds is a TCRG (Commission Certified Irish Dance Teacher) and the school is certified with Irish Dance Commission (An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha - CLRG). The owner, Marty Dowds’ career in Irish dance started at the “late” age of 9. During his competition years he won Worlds, All Ireland, Ulster and British Nationals competitions before heading off to dance professionally with Riverdance for 13 years. His combined Irish dance experience spans 24 years. Many of those years were spent as a lead dancer. It’s his goal to pass on his love of Irish dance and culture to people of all backgrounds. Dowds Irish Dance Academy is the only Irish dance school in Omaha where students will be taught by a world champion Irish step dancer following a proven traditional Irish method of instruction. The Academy’s owner, Marty Dowds, was also a successful professional Irish dancer. This makes a big difference to every student. At our Academy you or your child will learn each step from a master.
